Democratic Party spokesperson Floriana Garo raised concerns about the treatment of Kosovo at a regional conference organized by Edi Rama's government.

In a statement, she said that the use of the asterisk for the name Kosovo at a regional conference held in Tirana constitutes an open anti-Albanian act and a betrayal of the national issue.

"At the behest of Belgrade's Vučić, Edi Rama has come out today against Kosovo and the national issue. At a regional conference held in Tirana, the organizer, Rama's government, presented the name of Kosovo with an asterisk * in the materials and credentials of the event. This has brought the reaction of the Kosovo deputy minister, Mr. Dobruna, representative of Pristina, who has abandoned the meeting when the request that Kosovo be treated as equal was rejected.
The Democratic Party strongly condemns this open anti-Albanian act in the middle of Tirana.
We consider it an act of vassalage to Vučić and a stab in the back of the national issue.
Kosovo, recognized as an independent country by the vast majority of countries in the free world, is being branded with the asterisk of Russia and Serbia in the capital of Albania.
After the Open Balkans, this is Edi Rama's second betrayal of Kosovo ," said Garo.
