Accused of leading a criminal group, SPAK sends Mark Gilaj for trial

The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime has sent Mark Gilaj to trial at the Special Court of First Instance.

Gilaj is accused of consuming elements of the criminal offenses "Cultivation of narcotic plants", leading a "structured criminal group", "Unlicensed possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", as well as "Unlicensed production and possession of hunting and sporting weapons".

On July 25, 2024, near the village of Selcë, a cultivated quantity of 11,358 cannabis cattiva narcotic plants was found in a meadow area. The plants, with a height of 40 - 100 cm, were planted in 3 plots next to each other, on an area of ​​6,956 m2.

The judicial police arrested the defendant Mark Gilaj in flagrante delicto.
