Berisha on small businesses: We will put a limit on the Municipality, not to impose taxes more than 1% of turnover

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, held a meeting with small businesses in Tirana. Berisha guaranteed them that they will be protected from taxes and will not allow municipalities to impose more than 1% of turnover.

The chief democrat declared that energy will drop to 6 lek per kilowatt and that the price of water will also be halved.

Berisha: We will do everything to provide more breathing space because for us, small businesses are fundamental to employing people. We believe that by saving them from the absurd fiscal burden, they will have more money left, they will be able to expand their businesses better, and they will be able to employ others and their families will have better welfare.

We will reduce the price of energy by three times. The price of water by two times. We will increase the tax-free ceiling from 140 thousand to 180 thousand euros. So, we have an emergency framework.

We will forgive all the fines on you. Those who have imposed fines on you will flee into the past because you have heroically stood up to this regime that has thought of how to burden small businesses with taxes in the interest of the oligarchs.

So this ends. Every fine imposed on small businesses will be amnestied. Every fine imposed on citizens will be amnestied. We will make it run better because we will reduce the fiscal burden.

We will set a limit for the municipality, so that it does not dare to impose taxes of more than 1 percent of turnover, now they go up to 8 percent of turnover and they turn that money into patronage and grapes and plums.

Be assured that I keep my word. We will try to make your business run better, because this is in your interest, but also in society's. Because it expands the business, it employs more people.

What the state absurdly takes with energy at 18 lek per kilowatt, it will go down to 6 lek per kilowatt. We will halve the water. What is public space will go down from 1500 lek per square meter today, it will go down to 120 lek, what it used to be.

The tax-free ceiling is 140 thousand euros, it will go to 180 thousand euros. I say that with this we give it some breathing space...

For us, small business has a huge advantage because it employs more people than any other business. And employment means a salary, it means a better life.

For small businesses, we will reduce energy from 18 to 6 lekë. We will increase the tax ceiling from 140 thousand to 180 thousand euros tax-free. Public space will be given to you at a much lower price. We will forgive all fines that have been imposed on you. Every fine will be forgiven on small businesses.

Meanwhile, the living wage for every Albanian, for every pensioner with any pension. There will be no pension below 200 euros. There will be no one with economic assistance below 200 euros.

We will do everything for the list of medicines. I was just reading, before I came here, an official analysis by INSTAT. It showed that from 2019 to 2023, out-of-pocket healthcare expenses of Albanian citizens have increased by 41 percent.
