Lawyer Genc Gjokutaj commented on the Rama-Veliaj clashes regarding the leadership of the capital's municipality following the mayor's arrest.

"We are talking about suspension from duty, because it is aggravated in cases of taking total responsibility of appointed officials, this is a prohibitive measure that accompanies the security measure. For elected persons, this suspension from duty is prohibited. In this case, the municipal council in a percentage of 1/3, which has the cases of the law when the mandate of the mayor is terminated and there are two references.

It is Article 1 of the constitution and we have the law on local self-government. There are two cases where mayors of municipalities have been dismissed, of the municipalities of Kuks and Dibra.
