The price of oil has fallen these days in the American and European stock markets, but the fluctuation has not affected the Albanian market. The latter remains among the most expensive in the world for the fuel price level.

On the American stock exchange, a barrel of crude oil is traded at a rate of about 72 dollars per barrel, while in Europe the price has also suffered a slight decrease.

In the US, euronews writes, oil prices fell as investors worried about the lack of progress in negotiations between Democrats and Republicans in Washington to raise the debt ceiling.

President Joe Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy reached a tentative deal on the debt over the weekend, but it must be approved by Congress, which so far remains divided.

The deal must be reached before June 5, the day the Treasury Department says the country will be unable to meet its financial obligations.

Price fluctuations are small, however they also affect the Albanian fuel market, where a liter of diesel is sold today at the pump at a price of 176 Lek/liter.

Compared to last summer, when a liter of diesel was traded at 220 ALL per liter, the price seems to be stable, however, Albania is ranked in the list of the 20 most expensive countries.
