The murder of Azem Hajdari, Izet Haxhia is sentenced to 21 years in prison

Former bodyguard of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, Izet Haxhia, has been sentenced to 21 years in prison. He was found guilty of the September 12, 1998 murder.

Described as the "murder of the century", Azem Hajdari was killed near the blue headquarters on the evening of September 12. Haxhia was arrested in 200 after being declared internationally wanted.
