Zani Çaushi demands parole again: I have served my sentence

The court hearing for Myrteza Çaushi in the Court of Korça has been postponed, scheduled to take place today with the objective of changing the type of prison security. The reason for the postponement of the court hearing is that it was the absence of the judge for health reasons.

It is also learned that Murteza (Zani) Çaushi has made another request for parole. The first request, the former leader of the Vlora gang in '97, submitted on May 14, 2020, but after numerous debates in the courtroom between him, the prison lawyer and the prosecutor, Çaushi withdrew this request. , causing the judge of the case Selaudin Pysqyli, in July 2020 to make the decision to reject the request.

As several months have passed, another request of Myrteza Çaushi has already been registered in the court of Korça, who requests "parole", claiming that 2/3 of the sentence has been served. The case has been referred again to the judge of Korça, Selaudin Pysqyli, who after reviewing and analyzing the facts will decide on parole or not.

His first hearing on the parole application is scheduled for March 25.

Myrteza Caushi was the leader of one of the gangs in the city of Vlora during the riots of 1997 and is sentenced to life imprisonment for a series of murders, where he is serving his sentence in Drenova prison.
