Kurti confirms agreement with US on immigrants: We will accommodate 50 people
Albin Kurti

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti confirmed this Wednesday cooperation with the United States of America regarding the acceptance and temporary relocation of expelled citizens.

Through a post on social media, Kurti writes that within a 1-year period, Kosovo will accept and shelter up to 50 people.

Kurti has considered the US a steadfast ally, while writing that during their stay in Kosovo, these citizens will act in accordance with the legislation in force and will enjoy the rights defined by the legislation in force.

Kurti's post:

In response to the request of the United States of America for the temporary admission and resettlement of third-country nationals, the expressed willingness to cooperate with our partner and ally, we translated it into a Government Decision today, at our 262nd meeting.

According to this decision, our state will accept and shelter up to 50 individuals within a period of one year with the aim of facilitating their safe return to their country of origin. The selection of these persons will be made from a proposed list, as long as they meet certain criteria regarding the rule of law and public order.

During their stay in Kosovo, these persons will act in accordance with the legislation in force and will enjoy the rights defined by our legislation in force. The United States of America remains our steadfast ally and the Republic of Kosovo will always be their reliable partner. We are forever grateful for their continued assistance and cooperation, and we highly appreciate their support in defense and development, and especially in our journey towards Euro-Atlantic integration.
