Hero in Greece/ Albanian immigrant saves two children from drowning in river
A heroic act has come from an Albanian immigrant in Greece, who saved two minor children from drowning in the Arakthos River, near the village of Neohori in Arta. The event took place on Wednesday afternoon and was widely reported by the Greek media.

Levia Goga, an Albanian immigrant, was in a cafe when a young man on a motorbike approached, shouting that two children were drowning in the river. Without hesitation, Goga got in his car and sped towards the scene, showing extraordinary courage and humanity.

" I jumped without thinking. The first time I didn't see anything. The second time I dived eight meters deep, I saw the boy. He was lying at the bottom, his face blackened, like he was dead. I grabbed him with difficulty and pulled him out. When they told me there was another one, I jumped again. I found him lying on his back. Blood was coming out of his mouth and nose. I was very scared ," he told Greek media.

Goga managed to pull both children out of the water, at a time when every second was crucial. He cannot hide his emotion when he talks about the feelings of the moment:

I don't care who they are, what race or religion they have. I am a foreigner too, but I am human. I did what any parent would do. Only the children are on my mind. To live. To wake up. To make their own lives. Even my children cry at home. I have to go back…

Thanks to his intervention, both children were saved from drowning and handed over to medical teams for further treatment. Levian Goga's act was greeted by the local community and touched public opinion in both countries, marking an extraordinary example of humanity and courage.
