First case of monkeypox identified in Albania

A young man has been identified with monkeypox in Albania.

According to Top Channel, the infectious viral disease caused by the monkeypox virus has been diagnosed in a young man in his thirties.

It is learned that the young man has traveled abroad, at least this is what he told doctors who link the latter as the cause of the infection, since so far in Albania no cases of monkeypox have been identified or at least not reported by the Institute of Public Health.

Symptoms of this disease are fever, body aches, swollen lymph nodes, redness, and pimples that turn into blisters with crusts.

They usually appear on the hands, face, and genitals. Monkeypox is spread by direct contact with infected people, such as skin-to-skin contact or sexual intercourse. But a person can also become infected by contact with contaminated objects, such as sheets, towels, or clothing.
