Kosovo commemorates today the 24th anniversary of the Reçak Massacre where 45 Albanians were killed.

The event took place on January 15, 1999 in the village of Reçak. According to witnesses at the time, Reçak woke up surrounded by Serbian forces who attacked the village with heavy artillery.

45 Albanians were massacred by the Serbs, who after the bombings started the raids.

The horrors caused in the village of Reçak brought to the attention of the entire civilized world and revealed the truth about the genocidal plan of the ex-criminal Slobodan Milosevic.

In commemoration of the Reçak Massacre, the Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, President Vjosa Osmani, Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Ambassador William Walker will pay homage at the Reçak Memorial Complex at 10:00.
