The sun set today forever for one of the prominent leaders of the Democratic Party, one of the politicians who dedicated the best years of his life to Democrats and Democrats.

Gerti Bogdani was born in Tirana, where he graduated from "Harry Fultz" high school, with excellent results and a 'Gold Medal'. He continued his higher studies at the Polytechnic University of New York, where he graduated with 'Summa Cum Laude', being also declared the winner of the Outstanding Graduate Award - 'Gold Medal'.
Bogdani, after his studies in America, returned to Albania where he began his professional career as a full-time Professor of Computer Science at the University of New York Tirana.
He is the founder and leader of the Network of Albanian Students in the World.
He started his political career in 2007, when he ran for the Democratic Party for Mayor of Municipal Unit No. 10 in Tirana, winning.
During this time, he served as the political spokesman of the DP. In 2009, Gerti Bogdani ran in the Parliamentary Elections of June 28, and was elected the youngest deputy in the Assembly of Albania. From 2009 onwards, he continued his activity as the Chairman of the Youth Forum of the Democratic Party-FRPD.
In 2011, he was elected Vice President of the International Young Democrat Union (IYDU) and then, in January 2012, President.
In September 2015, he was elected Chairman of IYDU, at the Congress held in Lisbon, thus becoming the first Albanian politician with such a high position in an international organization.
From April 2007 to September 2021, he served as Secretary for Foreign Relations and member of the Presidency of the Democratic Party.
In the words of Sali Berisha, Chairman of the Democratic Party:
Gerti Bogdani will remain one of the most outstanding young personalities of the Democratic Party: a democratic politician, with civility, with training, with preparation, with honesty, with wisdom, to the highest degree high. This is a great loss for the DP, but it is a real loss for the Albanian society. Gerti Bogdani was one of those young people, descendant of an excellent family, aligned with PD from the beginning.
If there is one person I know, who has left only positive impressions on every citizen, friend, acquaintance, in every meeting, in every communication, this is Gerti Bogdani.
