William Levy released from prison

Famous Cuban-American actor William Levy, as he was released from a Florida prison, explained the reason why he was arrested, despite the police report saying otherwise.

He was charged with intoxication and trespassing. Levy posted $250 bond on each count and was released from the Broward County Jail in Fort Lauderdale.

"It was a bit of a difficult situation because I had a few drinks with the team, as we usually do," he told reporters after his release.

Without giving many details, he added that there was an "argument with someone else and that he intervened trying to prevent the situation from escalating and that he ended up in handcuffs."

According to a police report, cited by several media outlets, the incident occurred when Levy was eating at a restaurant and ordered a round of drinks for everyone.

After receiving the bill, he allegedly refused to pay, claiming that he had already paid his share of the bill.

Levy denies assaulting the employee, and the aforementioned report states that the actor was "very drunk" and that he had a physical altercation with the restaurant employee, which Levy denied on camera after his release from prison.

The same person was repeatedly ordered to leave the restaurant, according to the document cited by Telemundo.
