Tom Ford's husband dies, they have lived together for 35 years

Richard Buckley, fashion journalist and husband of stylist and director Tom Ford, has passed away at the age of 72.

"With great sadness Tom Ford announces the death of his beloved husband of 35 years, Richard Buckley. Richard died peacefully at their home in Los Angeles on Sunday night and next to him was Tom and their son Jack," - said a Ford representative in a statement to the media.

The fashion journalist died of natural causes after an illness from which he had been suffering for some time already.

Fordu met Buckley, the former editor-in-chief of 'Vogue Hommes International', in an elevator at a fashion show in 1986.

Prior to becoming director of Vogue Hommes in 1999, Buckley worked for Women's Wear Daily, Vanity Fair, and Mirabella after appearing in New York magazine in 1979.
