Health problems, Johnny Depp cancels concerts with 'Hollywood

Johnny Depp will not return to the stage as planned. The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor announced he has to postpone some of his upcoming gigs with his band Hollywood Vampires - which also includes Alice Cooper, Joe Perry and Tommy Henriksen - due to an injury.

"Dear friends, I'm sorry to say that I have broken my ankle!!!" he wrote on his Instagram Story. "Some doctors have strongly suggested that I avoid any activity at the moment and so unfortunately I am unable to travel at this time." He said the injury started as an ache but "became worse than better" after his controversial appearance at the Cannes Film Festival in France on May 16 to promote Jeanne du Barry, the his first major film in three years.

"I promise we will bring an amazing show to all of you in Europe and bring our absolute best to the East Coast later this summer and make it up to those who paid for those shows!!!" the guitarist added as he offered his "sincerest apologies."

The Hollywood Vampires announced the concert series last year, shortly after Depp's defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard. The shows will begin in Romania on June 8 with stops in France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Bulgaria and other countries in June and July.
