Over 140 injured in Kocani fire, some sent to hospitals abroad

The Director of the Health Insurance Fund of North Macedonia, Sasho Klekovski, has provided new details on the number of injured in the tragedy at the "Pulse" discotheque in Kocani. He announced that yesterday, over 140 people were admitted for treatment as a result of the fire. Of these, 90 injured people were hospitalized in hospitals within North Macedonia, while 44 others were transferred for treatment to hospitals abroad.

According to Klekovski, 8 more people are expected to be sent to Croatia and Romania for specialized treatment. Meanwhile, the distribution of patients in various hospitals within the country is as follows: 20 injured people have been hospitalized in the Clinical Center, 20 others in the Ship Clinical Hospital and the 8 Shtatori SPQ, 21 in "St. Naum of Ohrid", as well as 2 patients in the General Hospital in Kocani and in Toxicology.

Regarding international transfers, Klekovski explained that 44 injured people have been sent abroad for medical treatment. They have been transferred to hospitals in Serbia (17), Bulgaria (14), Turkey (9) and Greece (4). The numbers of patients may change due to the ongoing transfers to other hospitals for more specialized treatment.

"The condition of all patients is being monitored and further procedures are being decided in consultation with the medical teams," Klekovski said.
