Protests, Vucic: New elections on June 8

The March 15 protest in Belgrade, considered the largest since the overthrow of Slobodan Milosevic's regime, has sparked a reflection of President Aleksandar Vucic.

"We clearly understood the message and we will have to change something of ourselves. The government must learn lessons. Maybe in three or four months, let's hold a referendum or elections to verify its legitimacy," Vucic said.

Vucic gathered saturday, where the parliamentary speaker Ana Brnabic and the army's Chief of Staff General Milan Mojsilovic were present.

Serbian media reported that Vucic has stated that if a government is not formed within 30 days of The Resignation of Milos Vucevic in parliament, parliamentary elections could be held on June 8.

At the March 15 protest, 56 people were injured, with no serious life consequences. Twenty-two protesters have been arrested for crimes against property and for attacking police officers and other people. The protesters demand criminal and political accountability for this tragic event.
