What will Trump do after taking office?
President-elect Donald Trump has just arrived at the Capitol, but after he's sworn in, he has a slew of executive orders planned to go into effect. Here's a look at some of them.

Migration:

Trump is declaring a national emergency at the border to send more troops and manpower there.
He is instructing officials to resume construction of the US-Mexico border wall.
The Republican wants to strip birthright citizenship from the children of immigrants who are in the US illegally.
He plans to reinstate the so-called "Remain in Mexico" policy, which requires migrants to wait for asylum hearings in Mexico.
Economy:

Trump plans to declare a national energy emergency, which he says will allow the country to produce more natural resources and create jobs.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Trump plans to direct the government to assess the US trade relationship with China - but has no plans yet to impose new tariffs.
Diversity and gender:

He is planning an executive order that would end DEI [diversity, equity, and inclusion] within the federal government.
Another executive order would “determine that it is a policy of the United States to recognize two genders — male and female” that cannot be changed.
