Israel: We will determine the price of Iran's attack at the right time

Benny Gantz, Israel's war cabinet minister, has said that Israel will determine the "exact price" of Iran's attack on it in due course.

Israel and its allies have shot down most of the nearly 300 drones and missiles launched overnight by Iran.

Huge explosions were heard in the early hours of Sunday morning in Israel, as the Israeli Air Force shot down incoming missiles and drones.

Iran has said that the attacks are in response to an attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria on April 1, which killed several Iranians, including important military figures.

Israel has neither confirmed nor denied carrying out the attack.

"We will build a regional coalition and determine the exact price of Iran's attack, at the right time for us," Gantz said.

"Most importantly, in the face of our enemies' desire to harm us, we will continue to unite and grow stronger."

Separately, Gantz said that he also talked with the German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock.

"We have discussed the importance of forming a global common front to oppose Iranian aggression directly from him and his networks - regionally and globally," Gantz said in a post on social networks.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has warned Israel against any "reckless behavior" following the attack, saying Tehran's subsequent response will be "even stronger".

The Iranian military has claimed that its strikes have hit all targets and that the operation was carried out successfully.

Western and other governments have called for restraint./rel
