China's protests against Covid-19 restrictions that erupted over the weekend were crushed by police. Many protesters have been escorted, while hundreds of them have had their phones checked.
But overseas Chinese have continued to protest in many cities around the world. The demonstrations started after ten people lost their lives as a result of a fire that engulfed a building.
The citizens blamed the authorities, who chained the doors of the apartments and made it impossible to save the residents of the building.
The police have also arrested journalists covering the protests in recent days.
