Trump criticizes Biden administration after swearing in for not managing

Newly sworn-in President Donald Trump criticized the Biden administration in his inaugural address — as former President Joe Biden sat a few steps away — for failing to "manage the simple crisis at home."

"We now have a government that cannot manage a simple crisis at home, while at the same time stumbling upon a continuous catalog of catastrophic events abroad," Trump said.

The president also touched on immigration, a major focus of his new administration, saying the government "fails to protect our wonderful law-abiding citizens, but proves a sanctuary and protection for dangerous criminals."

He continued: "We have a government that has provided unlimited funding for the protection of foreign borders, but refuses to protect American borders or, more importantly, its own people."

President Donald Trump also said that today, January 20, 2025, is "liberation day."

"I hope that our recent presidential election will be remembered as the greatest and most important election in the history of our country," Trump said during his inaugural address on Monday.
