The star of "Friends" dies at the age of 54

Actor Matthew Perry, known for his role as Chandler Bing in the series Friends, has died at the age of 54.

The actor was found dead at his home in Los Angeles, according to American media.

"Matthew was an extremely talented actor and an important part of the Warner Bros. television group," the company said in a statement.

Perry's representatives have not commented on his death.

Perry's role in Friends made him one of the most popular actors in the world.

Friends, which featured the lives of six young friends in New York, aired from 1994 to 2004, winning the 2002 Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.

Perry was nominated for an Emmy Award for his role on Friends. He also starred in other films, such as Fools Rush In and The Whole Nine Yards.
