Von Cramon on the situation in Kosovo: Mayors do not have the power to enter

The rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, Viola von Camon, spoke at a media conference on the tense situation in the north of Kosovo.

Von Cramon called on the Kosovo authorities to withdraw the special units located in the four municipalities in the north.

Von Cramon stated that the new mayors were legitimately elected, but they cannot enter the buildings by force. According to her, Kosovo is risking a lot with these maneuvers.

"I am worried, the situation is tense. The presidents are legitimately elected, but this does not mean that they have legitimate power to enter the facilities and to ensure this access more forcefully, no one can govern with one or two percent of the votes. The situation is not sustainable," Von Cramon said.
