Presidential election / Trump accepts the debate with the rival in the race Kamala Harris
Donald Trump has announced that he has agreed to Fox News' proposal for a debate against the US vice president, Kamala Harris.
Trump said the debate will be held on September 4 in Pennsylvania, although the location has not yet been determined.
The former president also noted that a previously scheduled ABC News debate on President Biden before he suspended his re-election campaign had been canceled, citing his lawsuit against the network and one of its executives, George Stephanopoulos.
"I have agreed with FoxNews to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th," Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. "The debate was previously scheduled against Joe Biden on ABC, but has been canceled since Biden is no longer in the race, and I am in litigation against ABC and George Slopadopoulos, creating a conflict of interest."
The moderators of the debate will be the presenters of Fox News, Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum.
The rules of the debate will be similar to those of June 27 CNN vs. Biden. But unlike the CNN debate, which had no audience, the Fox News debate will have viewers.
Fox News had invited Trump and Harris to participate in a debate in Pennsylvania on September 17.
Harris said last month he was "ready" to debate the former president and accused him of reneging on an earlier agreement to debate ABC News on Sept. 10.
This comes after Harris was chosen as the Democratic Party's presidential nominee after Biden announced that he would drop out of his re-election campaign.
Trump previously said he would not debate Harris because she was not the party's official nominee after Biden dropped out of the race. But on Friday, the vice president secured enough delegates to officially become the party's nominee.
