Saving energy with a fine, Balluku: State institutions must save or be fined

The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Belinda Balluku, announced today the last decisions of the government in the energy sector.

Balluku stated that any state institution that does not save 15% of electricity compared to the previous year's bill, the manager will be fined 50,000 lek.

Balluku said that an energy administrator will be appointed whose target will be to reduce energy consumption to 15% in every state institution.

"We will demand the reduction of electricity consumption in terms of state institutions. For this reason, through this bill, we ask for 15% of the energy consumed compared to the previous year's bill. This energy is equivalent to 3.4 billion ALL. Starting from all state institutions, we will appoint an energy administrator whose target will be to reduce consumption by 15% for each institution. The measure is a fine of up to 50,000 lek for each manager whose institution consumes more energy", said Balluku.
