The head of the socialist parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, spoke about the decision of the Constitutional Court, which said that the elections of June 30, 2019 were valid and about the by-elections for the municipalities that are without a mayor.

For the latter, the President of the Republic must decree a date, while the SP has stated that it is ready to enter the elections. Balla said that the decision of the Constitutional Court is an obligation and that President Ilir Meta should set the date of the elections for the 6 municipalities that have been left without a mayor.

"Respecting the decisions of the Constitutional Court is an obligation. And naturally the President of the Republic as an important institution must take the decision-making determined by the Constitution," said Balla.

The latter was asked if the SP has ready the names of the municipalities that have been left without a mayor. Balla did not provide an answer to this question, but added there was an attempt by the opposition to undermine the June 30 local elections.

"This is a question I will not answer. Naturally, the SP is proud of its decision to run in the June 30 elections. Let us not forget that there was an attempt by the DP and opposition forces to undermine the holding of the elections. ", Balla declared for the journalists.
