The Assembly failed to collect the necessary votes to send to the Constitutional Court the decision on the incompatibility of the mandate of the socialist deputy Olta Xhaçka.

 After a marathon session in the Assembly, in contrast to the previous two cases, the socialists chose after midnight on Thursday, to abstain this time in the majority (65 votes) and only 9 spoke against.

Deputy Xhaçka herself did not participate in the vote even though she was present in the hall. Meanwhile, the 9 deputies who voted against were: Jurgis Çyrbja, Bledi Çuçi, Damian Gjiknuri, Anduel Tahiraj, Paulin Stërkaj, Petro Koçi, Klodiana Spahiu, Shkëlqzim Bullari and Bujar Çela. Even Prime Minister Rama, who was not present in the hall, did not participate in the vote.

Opposition : We do not have a constitutional court

Spiropali : " The Assembly has implemented the entire parliamentary procedure for the implementation of the decision of the Constitutional Court, since this decision is not approved, as it did not reach the required majority, tomorrow as the President of the Assembly I will address the Venice Commission to get a specialized opinion on the applicable standards in the decision-making of the legislative power, the ratio and competitiveness of the principles provided for in the constitutional law and for cases of incompatibility of the mandate of the deputy ".
