Rama's "flying carpets": Happy pensioners with two bonuses and a

Prime Minister Edi Rama has chosen to communicate with followers on his Facebook profile in the " Sy më sy " section, where a commentator asked him to pay more attention to issues such as drinking water supply and pensions. However, the prime minister's response, in addition to some statistics and promises, did not spare irony for the opposition and the not-so-modest comparison of the socialist government with the past.

In his response, Rama described the current government as the only one that has done and can do for pensioners, emphasizing that pensions have increased significantly for those who have retired in the last 10 years. “It is this government that gave pensioners, a few weeks ago, a full 10 million euros as a bonus for the new year and will give a second bonus for the first time in the spring, ” he said, trying to convince citizens that caring for pensioners is the government’s priority.

Rama declared that the opposition is offering “magic carpet rides” to pensioners, describing them as “ worthy heirs of Sudes and Xhaferri .” Furthermore, the prime minister made sure to add that “pensioners do not forget who made Albania wool and flax,” mentioning again that the socialist government is “the best” the country can have for at least another decade.

Rama's rhetoric raises questions: Are pensions and drinking water a real priority for the government, or has the "flying carpet" campaign been started by the prime minister himself? While bonuses seem sufficient in speeches, citizens continue to face the reality of a lack of concrete improvements in these essential areas.
