Rama after the meetings in Brussels: Positive day in a difficult moment for

Prime Minister Edi Rama has described today as positive and productive, after holding several meetings in Brussels.

“Positive and productive day in a difficult moment for everyone; direct conversations with our friends in Brussels and very good assessments on their part for Albania ", writes Rama, while posting photos from the meetings with senior EU officials.

In this visit, which focused on the pandemic, the country's EU integration and the use of funds for reconstruction after the earthquake, Rama today met with EC President Ursula von der Leyen, and held a joint conference with EU Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi and EU Foreign Policy Chief Joseph Borrell, following the meeting of the Stabilization and Association Council between Albania and the EU.

Borrell and Varhelyi stated that the progress of the April 25 elections is crucial for holding the intergovernmental conference for Albania.

He added that the lists of candidates for MPs should be clean and that they should have people with integrity.

Varhelyi stressed that they have expressed the desire for this conference to take place as soon as possible, but that so far they do not have a specific date.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Rama was critical of the EU in front of top European officials, saying that they felt neglected on the issue of the pandemic and the supply of anti-Covid vaccines.
