Dear compatriots and compatriots of the emigration in Thessaloniki. A heartfelt greeting to all of you, present in this hall, to all Albanians in emigration, in Thessaloniki and throughout Greece.
All Albanians in emigration, wherever they are, but a heartfelt greeting also to those democrats who are in this hall today. They came from northern Europe and the four corners of the world to join you on this significant day.
I would like to greet here the presence of the deputies of the local branch of the Democratic Party in Thessaloniki, all the members of this branch.
I greet the leaders of the political parties of the coalition for a Greater Albania, candidates for deputies of this coalition present in this hall.
A heartfelt greeting to your Greek friends, employers, collaborators and boundless gratitude for their hospitality towards you.
Thank you very much, you Albanians of the diaspora, with your energy, with your optimism, with your enthusiasm, you became, de facto, the leaders of the victory campaign. You became the anthem of this campaign. Your energy, enthusiasm, love for Albania warmed the minds and hearts of all Albanians and today, everywhere in Albania, one of the most beautiful campaigns of 32 years is taking place.
Therefore, the year 2025 will be engraved on the walls of the nation's history as the year of the Albanian diaspora. It will be engraved in golden letters. May God bless you!
Dear friends, I have been waiting with great pleasure to meet you today in Thessaloniki, friendly Greece, a country in which, cities and suburbs in which over 60 thousand Albanians live. And in Greece, over half a million Albanians.
Friends, in a country where half a million Albanians live, for such a country, gratitude is boundless. A friendly country, a country to which we owe a lot for the attitude it has maintained towards you.
Therefore, may God bless Greece and the friendly Greek nation.
But you, too, have come to this country towards the unknown. You have come as people of courage, you have come as men and women who believed in your dream. You came to build the dream in this country, and today you have become a powerful factor in the economic, social, artistic, and cultural life of this country. You have a good name throughout Greece. You excel in every field, and you will excel even more in the times to come, just as the Arvanites today are at all levels of this country, they are the pride of Greece, and they are also the pride of Albania.
The relations between our two countries and nations are friendly relations. We are aware that relations between neighbors always know ups and downs. But we must admit, friends, that the act of Tirana's narco-dictator Edi Rama two years ago against MEP Fredi Beleri is one of the ugliest acts in the history of European democracies.
Edi Rama used the old tricks of the State Security, he used the same elements to snatch Fredi Beleri's mandate that the citizens of Himara gave him. And this, only because, Fredi Beleri, refused to be sold, refused to run for Edi Rama. No, he said, I am right-wing. I do not betray those principles of mine.
The truth is that, behind the anti-constitutional stance, the stance of trampling on the European Charter of Human Rights that was held against Fredi Beleri, discrimination. Why discrimination?
Every other person before Fredi Beleri who was imprisoned was allowed to take the oath, because the Constitution allows him to take the oath, while Edi Rama took every measure against him in contradiction to the Constitution, because he knew that of the 220 thousand square meters of land that he was robbing of the Monastery of Scutari and the Gjipe canyon, Fredi Beleri would not give him a single square meter.
Fredi Beleri would protect the property of his fellow villagers, of his fellow citizens. This is the truth.
But why did I stop here? I stopped, friends, to show what the mafia is capable of doing, sacrificing, damaging, despite the status of half a million Albanians, relations with neighbors which are always very important for personal mafia interests. This is Edi Rama, my friends.
