Berisha welcomes the Italian MP to the headquarters: Forza Italia, in permanent

The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has received the Italian deputy of Forca Italia, Alessandro Battilocchio, in his office in the blue headquarters.

Berisha emphasized that he informed Battilocchio about the dramatic developments of Albanian democracy and the collapse of the institution of free elections, where meanwhile Edi Rama not only does not conduct any voting process for any level of the Socialist Party, but since 2013, he has turned democratic elections into a criminal farce where crime brings votes, and votes bring crime to power.

Meeting with the deputy of Forza Italia, Mr. Alessandro Battilocchio

Forza Italia, in permanent support of the Democratic Party!

Dear friends, after his welcoming speech in the Assembly on December 2, I had the pleasure of meeting at the headquarters of the Democratic Party, the Deputy of Forza Italia, Mr. Alessandro Battilocchio, Chairman of the Commission of Inquiry of the Italian Parliament on the security and degradation of cities, as well as a member of the European Affairs Committee. Mr. Battilocchio, also the secretary for electoral issues at Forza Italia, was accompanied to the meeting by Mr. Bardhok Doda, head of the branch of the Democratic Party in Rome and Mr. Indrit Hoxha, secretary for the diaspora at the DP.

I thanked Mr. Battilocchio for his heartfelt speech and for the support that Forza Italia gave to Saturday's assembly, stressing our full commitment to continuing the historic relationship between our two political forces.

During the exchange, I informed Mr. Battilocchio about the dramatic developments of Albanian democracy and the collapse of the institution of free elections. While the Democratic Party conducted on Saturday the 10th internal election process during the last two years, the Socialist Party under the leadership of Edi Rama not only does not conduct any voting process for any of its levels, but since 2013, it has turned the democratic elections into a criminal farce where crime brings votes, and votes bring crime to power.

This is a situation that forces the Democratic Party, in the face of the installation of this criminal regime, to escalate its opposition action in every form and by every means that characterizes the democratic legacy in the genesis of the DP's 30-year history.

With Mr. Battilocchio, we discussed how the excellent past cooperation under the leadership of the historical President of Forza Italia, Mr. Silvio Berlusconi, should continue in the future under the current leadership of the General Secretary, Mr. Antonio Tajani. Part of the big family of the EPP and despite the transitory contexts, our two parties will always remain guided by European values and the historical and unique friendship that characterizes the relations between the two Albanian and Italian peoples.
