During this meeting, the development of the electoral campaign and the challenges that may affect the assessment of citizens were discussed.
The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, offered a detailed analysis of the political situation in the country, emphasizing that endemic and capillary corruption and criminal gangs, strengthened by a symbiotic cooperation with Edi Rama and the government, have damaged the hope of Albanians. He emphasized that the situation created in recent years is forcing citizens to leave the country, creating a social crisis, the greatest of the post-communist period.

Berisha also discussed how the justice system is being used politically by the government, including the cases of arrest and criminal prosecution of its three main leaders, as well as situations where deputies, mayors and other officials of the Democratic Party have been prosecuted without evidence and legal facts.

OSCE representatives expressed interest in understanding whether these allegations were publicly documented. It was clarified that all information is accessible, including Sky/EncroChat transcripts from Belgian and French law enforcement authorities.

They also demanded to know whether the government is using administrative resources for campaigning. Berisha presented examples of how the administration and public funds are being used for electoral interests, contrary to these ODhIR recommendations, counting at least 80 documented cases that are increasing every day.

The OSCE representative sought to understand the opposition's perception and expectations regarding free voting by citizens. Berisha informed her about the difficult conditions the opposition faces as well as the offer from her and the ASHM coalition of a real alternative, presenting a political and economic program that addresses the problems of Albanians.

The meeting was attended by the President of the Democratic Party, MPs Fatmir Mediu and Helidon Bushati, members of the Albanian delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, and Enri Çeno, Secretary for International Relations of the Democratic Party. The conversation was open.
