Bozdo denounces: Berat Municipality employees call voters from the diaspora and

The political leader of the Democratic Party for the Berat region, Eno Bozdo, has denounced that a business very close to the Berat Municipality is being used for electoral purposes.

He stated that municipal employees and others are being used as call center employees, calling all immigrants in the Berat district who are officially registered to vote and asking them to vote for the Socialist Party.

DECLARATION:

At these moments, during official hours, in a private hotel next to the Berat Municipality, in flagrant violation of the electoral law, employees of the Berat Municipality and its subordinate agencies are being used as call center employees, calling all immigrants in the Berat region who are officially registered to vote and asking them to vote for the Socialist Party. Thus, the administration paid for by our taxes has turned into an abused army of patronage agents of the ruling party.

Furthermore, municipal employees use the mobile phone numbers of immigrants, apparently obtained directly from the CEC, which also constitutes a serious violation of the electoral law and the law on the storage of personal data.

At the head of this illegal operation are Silvi Merdani, former Director of Tourism, and Arisa Toska, General Secretary of the Municipality of Berat. The latter's phone contains all the patronage groups where accounts are demanded and confirmations of votes are given according to the lists. Meanwhile, on Ervin Demo's laptop, there are all the numbers of all Berat emigrants who will vote in the May 11 elections.

This illegal operation is supported on the ground by another vote-buying operation, which takes place in broad daylight: the wholesale dumping of electoral gravel and asphalt on the roads and alleys of the district, denounced time and again by Democratic Party deputies, in flagrant violation of electoral law.

At the head of this other operation is Joana Melengu, director of the municipality, caught red-handed in the 2021 elections along with the van with aid and identity cards!

That today's rulers steal and manipulate is nothing new. But the most important question today is: where is SPAK and why is it not acting?

If SPAK has the will, it can catch the employees of the Berat Municipality red-handed in the conference room of the adjacent hotel, while they are in flagrant violation of the electoral law. It can also catch the trucks with gravel and tar red-handed that are laying electoral asphalt in large quantities in broad daylight!

This is a public denunciation by the Democratic Party. Written depositions are also taking place. We call on SPAK to implement the law and exercise the functions that the law requires. SPAK must intervene immediately to bring those responsible to justice and maintain the electoral standard!

Thank you, honorable ones!
