The Supreme Court rejected this Thursday Sali Berisha's request to exclude the three judges composed of Ilir Panda, Sokol Binaj and Sander Simoni from reviewing his appeal.

The decision was made by Judge Enton Dhimitri, who confirmed the current composition of the panel of judges for the case in question.

Berisha seeks to repeal the security measure "obligation to appear" at the High Court, imposed by the Special Court of Appeals in connection with the file for the privatization of the former "Partizani" sports complex.

Initially, the hearing to review the appeal was scheduled to be held last Tuesday, but was postponed by the Supreme Court to April 22.

Meanwhile, Jamarbër Malltezi, Berisha's son-in-law, has also filed a recourse with the Supreme Court, seeking to overturn the decision of the Special Appeal, which left the security measure of "house arrest" against him unchanged. Malltezi's recourse will also be reviewed in the same session as that of the leader of the Democrat Party.
