Budget 2025/Muço: Reflects an irresponsible approach to the citizen and economic development
The head of the Department of Economy in DP, Klodian Muço, called the 2025 budget a reflection of an irresponsible approach to the needs of citizens and the economic development of the country.
Speaking at the table of the three departments of Economy, Public Finance and Entrepreneurship, with the presence of the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha at the headquarters, Muço said that the 2025 budget is turning our economy into a parasitic economy (totally dependent on imports) ).
Full word:
The budget is a reflection of the government's policies and priorities as a function of the citizen. This 2025 budget reflects an irresponsible approach to the needs of citizens and the economic development of the country. More concretely, a general analysis of the Project-Budget shows that this one of 2025 is turning our economy into a parasitic economy (totally dependent on imports).
Production sectors such as industry or even agriculture are left at the mercy of fate for the next year as well.
Both of these sectors had a decline in 2023, they are most likely in decline in 2024 and there is no way it will happen differently in 2025. The budget for education in relation to GDP finally reached the value of 2012 at 3.3% of GDP (far from the 5% promise of 2013).
As for the 722,000 pensioners, they will have to wait for the arrival of the Democratic Party because for them, even though 10 years have already passed since the failed pension reform, the government still tells them to wait, or promises them that there will be an increase. But in fact the 2025 budget does not say this.
More specifically
The budget for increasing pensions in 2025 is 1.6 billion ALL, the mid-term budget project for 2026 is 1.7 billion ALL and that of 2027 is 2 billion ALL. This leads you to understand that we will have an indexation of 1-1.5% per year. (405 thousand pensioners will continue to receive less than the average pension (18,800 ALL) or 24% of the average salary.
Year-end bonuses are estimated at 3.61 billion ALL for 2025, 3.75 billion ALL for 2026 and 3.8 billion ALL for 2027. Or about 5 thousand ALL per year.
I am not going far, but to the countries of the region.
North Macedonia raised about 40 euros in October 2024 for each pensioner and from March 1 will increase it by another 40 euros, reducing the average pension to 405 euros, 250% more than Albania. Practically as much as 42% of the average salary.
Montenegro increased pensions in 2024 by 52% or by 450 euros. 52% of the average salary.
In Serbia, it increased by 14.8%, bringing it to 440 euros or 36% of the average salary.
In Kosovo, the average pension is 190 euros, or 30% of the average salary.
In Bosnia, it increased by 35 euros to 340 euros, or 30% of the average salary.
