International Anti-Corruption Day, Tabaku: The fight is fought through building

Democratic Party MP Jorida Tabaku stated that the fight against corruption is done through building a fair economy, with more opportunities for business, lower costs and more honesty.

On International Anti-Corruption Day, Tabaku stated that the real crisis, which is clearly visible in the alarming number of Albanians choosing emigration, stems precisely from the deep corruption that has plagued every corner of our country.

"Corruption is everywhere, in every institution. You can't get even the simplest service without a bribe."

"This is the daily reality of thousands of citizens, who face a ruined economy. Food prices have increased by 55%, wages are the lowest in the region, and any development opportunities are stifled by corruption," she said.

According to Tabaku, "The cadastre has turned into a nightmare, where the poor no longer even have their own properties, while the rich benefit from everything."

"This is another clear example of how the state budget has turned into a private coffer for a small elite, while the majority of Albanians are impoverished every day. The more poverty deepens, the more taxes citizens pay, becoming an inexhaustible source for the corrupt system ," Tabaku added.

According to her, "for 11 years in a row, the socialists have destroyed every honest income, turning Albanians' money into grapes and plums."

" Meanwhile, public services degrade and citizens are left without support. Today, Albania is gripped by an elite that rules the majority in the interests of a corrupt minority."

Parliament has become a notary of the interests of this minority, while "tailor-made" laws do not represent the interests of citizens. The time for change has come.

"Albanians' money should not go to a privileged few, but to the well-being of all. We can no longer accept a system that is fueled by corruption. Albanians deserve a new vision and a commitment to honesty and accountability ," Tabaku said.
