Removing the energy bandage, Tabaku: Rama withdrew from the pressure, ERE not to be a government notary
Prime Minister Edi Rama announced today that the bundle over 800 kWh will not come into effect on October 1.
Democratic MP Jorida Tabaku said on ABC News that Rama withdrew due to public pressure. Tabaku added that it is not an achievement for the government as the bandage will not be removed completely, but the effective date will be postponed.
Tabaku said that ERE should not return to the government's notary.
"We should thank him for not entering on October 1 and entering on November 1? I told ERE not to be a government notary. It is no great achievement. It will continue to be. The entire middle class takes this bandwagon. The number of families that exceed the 800 km threshold goes up to 100,000. In only 40% of energy we get from import. We produce 60% here. Perhaps due to public pressure, the prime minister withdrew. It would be an extraordinary burden on the middle class. Which will be from November 1st maybe.
We bought 500 million euros of electricity in these years, this should not have been done. This money should have been spent on investments. We only have one photovoltaic park. God has blessed Albania with so many sunny days. If we used the sun and water we would not be here. The problem is corruption, mismanagement. There is no energy investment and strategy from the government. The abuse of the companies is being transferred to the consumer" , said Tabaku.
