Ivi Kaso reveals the 3 main battles of the DP before the May 11 elections

The political leader of the Democratic Party for the Korça region, Ivi Kaso, declared that after yesterday's protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, the Democrats will have to deal with 3 main battles before this year's parliamentary elections.

Invited to A2 CNN, he said that these battles are related to the Diaspora vote and guaranteeing the security of the Albanian vote.

"There are many battles to be fought and very little time. I believe that the main battle at this moment has to do with the diaspora vote, which is a process that is finite. There is an expiration date, which is March 4. We are still late for this process as a political class and the DP has become aware and is doing everything possible to make this vote possible for every Albanian citizen according to the Constitution. First of all, make it possible. We have a majority that aims to leave a million Albanians in line without voting, simply because it cannot control this high potential of voters.

"It is precisely the voters who have expired identity documents, or voters who for a thousand and one reasons do not have an Albanian ID but have biometric documents from foreign countries, for whom the Albanian Constitution and law say that they can vote, but the inability to equip them in time by a non-majority that has the legal responsibility to provide them with valid voting documents, can leave them without voting. And our responsibility is to make it possible for them to vote. Our other responsibility is to protect it and do everything possible to ensure that the voting process, both for voters who are abroad and those inside, is safe so that the real result of the elections reflects the will of Albanians at the moment it is poured into the ballot boxes ," said Kaso.

Regarding the request for a caretaker government, Ivi Kaso is convinced that there is still time to force the majority to accept this.

"Our main responsibility in terms of our commitment to making a change has to do with what the pre-election situation is. We are dealing with a majority that in two elections, as ODHIR said, has not allowed Albanians to make choices. It is our major commitment, to do whatever we can, and wherever we can, to make it possible for Albanians to vote freely. In this context, there was also our battle for a technical government, a battle from which we have not given up, despite other commitments. There is still time and the stability of the majority and the awareness of the people. We will do everything possible to win this battle. I believe that the technical government, which can suppress any kind of majority that may exist tomorrow, can be a very good instrument that can be sanctioned for a transitional period in the country's Constitution ," Kaso underlined.
