Këlliçi: Veliaj surrendered to Rama's threat

The political leader of the Democratic Party for the Tirana region, Belind Këlliçi, says that Mayor Erion Veliaj "surrendered" this Thursday afternoon, in the face of threats from Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Këlliçi said that the "war" that took place within the largest local institution for the delegation of powers to the mayor, between Veliaj's people and Rama's electorate, was won by the latter.

According to Këlliçi, Mayor Veliaj, despite attempts to regain control of the Tirana Municipality from Rama's hands, surrendered in the face of the latter's threats to dismiss him from office.
