Commission of Inquiry for Strategic Investments, Agron Duka withdraws, Alibeaj adds Basha to the list
Enkelejd Alibeaj's group filed a few days ago with a request for the establishment of the Commission of Inquiry for Strategic Investments.
The request filed in the Assembly remained suspended after the withdrawal of Agron Duka, whose firm the group replaced with Enkelejd Alibeaj and Lulzim Basha, because the document should have had 35 signatures, while with the withdrawal of Duka remained with 34.
"The PD Parliamentary Group has re-submitted today the corrected request with the signatures of not less than 35 deputies of the Albanian Parliament, after the withdrawal of the deputy Agron Duka. We would like to emphasize that for the initiating deputies, the implementation of the law and the protection of the public interest are the primary task of the deputies of the Albanian Parliament. The purpose of setting up the Commission of Inquiry is not the specific targeting of any legitimate investor, but to identify abuses with the law and take measures to curb these negative, corrupt and clientelistic phenomena. "Public property can never be loot for Edi Rama's friends and family, and the Assembly's task is to take measures to stop the implementation of the law on strategic investments and to hold accountable anyone who has violated the law."it is said in the announcement of Alibeaj's group.
