Muçollari: The government's alarming failures in food and environmental security

DP Presidency Member Grigels Muçollari, in a statement to the media from the Blue headquarters, said that the government has failed in food and environmental security.

Muçollari stated that the government has no plan or vision to offer these two guarantees, which are its duty and legal responsibility.

Muçollari: Our society faced two very acute issues this year, food safety and environmental safety. Our complaints, media revelations, and citizen reactions showed that the products we consume are unsafe, and that the government agency responsible for this sector, the AKU, is out of order.

Also, the suspicious waste crisis, which has not yet been solved, showed that we do not have environmental security, and that the government agency that covers this sector is not doing its job.

Food security and environmental safety are the most important elements of life, of citizens, children, parents and family members of each of us.

What would be the point of talking about other important things if we are so far behind in these two directions?

Even though the situation is alarming and the entire society is concerned and looking for solutions, the government has not lifted a finger?

The measures a government takes are reflected in the budget. In the budget that was just approved, the Renaissance does not foresee any improvements in food and environmental security.

No plan or vision to provide these two guarantees, which are its duty and legal responsibility. No increase in funds for training, for increasing personnel, for increasing expertise, for improving analysis, laboratories, for increasing traceability capacities, for new and necessary equipment.

Not even one thing in this regard.

The government, at the end of its mandate, is telling citizens that they must protect themselves from harmful foods and dangerous or toxic waste.

Criminal irresponsibility.

The Democratic Party prioritizes food security and environmental security. We are working with experts and experts in the field to provide solutions to this vital issue. The Democratic Party will deploy all the appropriate and necessary resources so that Albanians have safe food, a safe environment, and a safe ecological system.
