DP requests CEC: Remove party logos and symbols from Basha's private

The Democratic Party has filed a complaint with the Central Election Commission, requesting that the state police intervene to remove the party's logos and symbols from the rented offices of the Euro-Atlantic coalition led by Lulzim Basha.

The DP's request, filed by Franc Nuri, the DP's legal representative on March 21, states that the logos and symbols in Basha's offices are harming the legitimate interests of the entity, while emphasizing that this private environment should not be considered a DP electoral office by the CEC.

The DP's request to the CEC:

This request of ours concerns aspects of disinformation and public (mis)use by some individuals of the symbols, logos and emblem of the Democratic Party, symbols which are also used by the electoral entity "Democratic Party Alliance for a Greater Albania" PD-ASHM, an electoral coalition led by the Democratic Party.

Specifically, our concern comes after reports from our branches in the field, where we have been specifically informed that in Unit No. 5 in Tirana, on Nikolla Tupe Street, there is a private environment covered with the old symbols of the Democratic Party, which have not been used by our political entity for a long time (photos of the environment in question attached).

The use of these symbols in public spaces, at a time when the official election campaign is just weeks away, is harming the legitimate interests of our subject. On the other hand, this private space should not be considered (intentionally or mistakenly) as a DP electoral space/office by the CEC.

Therefore, we are appealing to the CEC, through its field inspectors, as well as by informing the State Police, to ascertain this fact and take the appropriate administrative and legal measures for the immediate removal of these unofficial symbols, emblems and logos of the DP.
