The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, was asked how much the hiring of Chris LaCivita, one of the strategists of US President Donald Trump's campaign in Tirana, as campaign manager for the upcoming parliamentary elections has cost his political force.

Berisha said that an agreement will be reached very soon, while emphasizing that he was not the one who conducted the negotiations.

"You will find out everything. There is no secret. I am not the person who handled the negotiation," Berisha said outside the Assembly hall, when asked by journalists.

Asked if he has the name of a candidate for mayor if Tirana goes to early elections after the arrest of Erion Veliaj, Berisha said: "The DP will certainly study its candidates very carefully, but the DP demands the immediate resignation of Edi Rama, branded as a puppet of Soros."
