"Letter from cell 6

Condolences to Sami Repishti, and a message to the Democrats

Sami Repishti left this world without apologizing. We as a society, as a country, had almost 3 and a half decades at our disposal, but we were unable to articulate a mia-culpa.

Although God gave him a reward, gave him 99 years of life, putting us to the test, so to speak, our conscience, our culture, our prudence, we still failed. Yes, in the first place, today's government, the biological, ideological and mental successor of his executioners. Sami Repishti was a genuine dissident.

He suffered prisons and exiles in communism, as he quickly realized what regime was being installed after the war and did not agree, together with intellectuals and representatives of the clergy. He escaped, and he succeeded academically. Yes, he never stopped trying for Albania and Kosovo.

The first Albanian to testify in the American congress. Tireless activist, erudite, a rare noble. They are very persecuted from the age they are leaving, and we as a society have not yet repaid our debt to them. They spent two months in cell number 6 in Fier prison, due to a public denunciation. A political imprisonment, 35 years after we left behind the dictatorship that this type of punishment was routine.

I have it more clearly now, to understand what Sami Repishti and thousands of others suffered who had the same fate, and even more terrible, for the only fault, because of the thought, the conscience, the word. The great prisoner is the society, we as a country that still do not have the maturity and enlightenment, to say; i'm sorry I noticed the government's reactions after the murder of the 14-year-old at the "Fan Noli" school.

Aggressive, hostile attitudes, blaming and accusing everyone. Without even sparing the victim. Neither the injured, nor their families. A primitive political stage. War and destruction of the one who raises his voice, who disagrees, who demands transparency, or who dares to cast a shadow of doubt on authority.

The Minister of the Interior, nor the Minister of Education, does not feel like asking for an apology. But they take out their weapons and beat and brandish anyone who contests them. Because they are angels, protected in virtues, infallible, they are fallen from heaven.

So no one dares to dispute them. This model, under the example of the big boss, is disgusting. It's one of those things that has gone on way longer than this country can handle. Stripped of this minimal sense of reflection, politics has remained the most backward in society. No rotation would be enough if that culture itself doesn't change."
