Tabaku: Medical students win the battle in the Constitutional Court, but forced labor continues
The deputy of the Democratic Party, Jorida Tabaku, has reacted through a video to the last decision of the assembly that failed to correct the decision taken by the Constitutional Court but still forces medical students to work under compulsion.
A decision reminiscent of communism, said Tabaku while emphasizing that the parliament did not correct itself by approving something contrary to the constitution.
She recalled the medical students' victory at the Constitutional Court, which overturned the law forcing them to pay fines or work under conditions set by the state, compared to communist-era methods.
She underlined that medical students face difficulties to develop their skills due to the lack of modern equipment and advanced teaching methods. Tabaku pointed out that the issue is not the departure of students from the country, but the creation of a fair and stable system within Albania.
The post to the PD deputy, Tabaku
Medical students won a battle in the Supreme Court to overturn a law that said either pay the fine or work where I want and how I want, like in the time of communism. Unfortunately, the Parliament did not repair, did not correct this law and the work forced to continue to exist.
I believe that today there is no family or medical student who has probably invested in one of the most difficult professions, in fact, which requires more time and commitment and is exhausting from the point of view of energy, to say that I don't want to work, but the problem is that today in the health system, students find it impossible to specialize, to develop, with the equipment that is there, with the technology that is there, with the salaries that medicine has today, but on the other hand, with the methods that are offered today. So they see leaving as an alternative.
This is not an option for me. The alternative for me is to change it and build a fair system here, but it doesn't exist here. I do not believe that there is a law in the world that can force young people to move from one side to the other, to gain experience that unfortunately they do not have in the country today.
I will be in defense of students and their right, wherever they are and however they fight. It is unfortunate that today we see the brain of Albania being forced to leave. We must win this battle. Even to change the rotten health system.
