Call from Thessaloniki: Albanian Diaspora Rises Up for Voting Rights: Don't

In a strong reaction from the heart of the Albanian diaspora in Greece, the Steering Council of the Democratic Party - Thessaloniki Branch has raised its voice against, as it calls it, "a corrupt government that has trampled on the free vote."

Through a public statement, democrats and honest Albanian citizens living abroad have been invited to no longer remain silent in the face of what they call an "electoral massacre."

"We, the sons and daughters of the true Albania who live far from our homeland, have the right to vote and be heard," the statement says.

The call for concrete action comes in the form of an official petition, which aims to be submitted to domestic and international institutions, such as the Albanian Parliament, the CEC, the General Prosecutor's Office, SPAK, as well as representatives of the EU, OSCE/ODIHR, and the US Department of State.

The petition calls for an in-depth and independent investigation into the electoral processes of recent years in Albania, with the aim of uncovering any manipulation or vote theft.

He demands transparency in the use of personal data, punishment of those responsible, and guaranteeing a safe vote for the diaspora in the future.

From Thessaloniki, Athens, Naples, Rome, Berlin, London to New York, Albanians abroad have been invited to sign the petition with their full details to demonstrate their seriousness and commitment to democracy and constitutional rights.

"Be the voice of truth. Don't let history be written without you!", concludes the call of the DP Council in Thessaloniki.
