"I will destroy Rama's phone book in court", Meta from the cell: Here's why I changed my lawyer

"I will destroy Rama's phone book in court", Meta from the cell:

From his detention cell, Ilir Meta gave an interview to Syri TV, where he responded to the accusations raised by SPAK, which he described as a "political fudge" orchestrated by Prime Minister Edi Rama. The Freedom Party President stressed that the lawsuits against him are politically motivated and that he will "defeat" them in court, from Tirana to Strasbourg.

"For me, it is a positive development that the case is going to court. The accusations against me have been formulated since the time I was President, by the Renaissance Congress. I have no fear, I will publicly dismantle Rama's trump card, all the way to Strasbourg," Meta said.

In the interview, Meta also explained the reasons for the change in legal representation, noting that the case will now be handled by lawyer Kujtim Cakrani. He emphasized that the decision to choose a new lawyer is related to the importance and scope of the case, which, according to him, is a major political process.

"Lawyer Gjokutaj has done an excellent job, but now we have two big issues: Berisha's and Meta's. Both cannot be represented by the same lawyer, as they have their own specifics. I am fully convinced that lawyer Cakrani will handle this process with dedication and will maintain a transparent approach with the public," said Meta.

He described himself and Berisha as victims of a justice system controlled by the majority, considering the entire investigation as part of a political strategy to eliminate the opposition.
