Italian police have discovered a case of drug trafficking after a simple road check in the Chiasso area, near the border with Switzerland. During the stop of a car with Ticino license plates, rented, the agents noticed suspicious behavior by the driver of the vehicle, a 34-year-old man of Albanian origin.

Following the checks, the police decided to also check the place where he was staying: a hotel in Morbio Inferiore. During the raid, officers found significant amounts of cocaine divided into doses, ready to be distributed in the local market. Several thousand francs were also seized in the room, which are suspected to have benefited from the sale of drugs.

At the time of the intervention, another Albanian citizen, only 19 years old, was in the room. Both were arrested at the scene and are charged with serious violation of the federal law on narcotics.

Investigations have revealed that the 34-year-old had made numerous trips to the Lugano region and to Italy, always in rental cars - a practice that was allegedly part of the strategy to avoid being tracked by the authorities. It is suspected that their criminal activity had started a few months ago and was organized in a stable way.
