DP demands the repetition of the elections in the region of Fier


The Democratic Party has expanded the list of complaints to the Appeals and Sanctions Commission (KAS), requesting this time the repetition of the elections in the district of Fier as well. According to the official announcement, the DP has filed the request for the annulment of the result approved by the Central Election Commission (CEC) for the elections held on May 11.

In its argumentation, PD-ASHM claims that the electoral process in this district has been massively manipulated through the involvement of public officials in the campaign, vote buying and using criminal elements to influence the result.

"In Fier we are dealing with a pure scenario of alienation of the will of the voters. Cases have been documented when exponents of the underworld have patrolled urban and rural areas, blocked roads and exerted direct pressure on individuals and families to influence their vote," the DP statement reads.

This is the DP's next complaint after those submitted to other districts, as the opposition demands a full investigation of violations and a repeat of the elections in some areas of the country.
