Vasili: Municipalities have turned into patronage electoral brigades

The MP of the Freedom Party, Petrit Vasili, spoke about the local government and the municipalities that are drowning in debt.

For Syri TV, Vasili said that the municipalities with Edi Rama in the government have simply turned into electoral brigades filled with patronage.

"Municipalities were formed in 2015 to provide more services, to take on more projects. But as fewer services are provided, we have seen that the number of employees has doubled.

Every municipality has turned into an electoral brigade with patronageists, who have only one task, to get that salary without doing anything and during campaigns to go to houses, businesses with threats and distribute money and the dirt that we see during the elections.

Edi Rama's interest in having a functioning local government is zero. There is not the slightest interest in this matter.

There is a word for it; he means government, the government is him and every lek and every investment goes through his company and of course in its function he gets back a large part of the lion's share that belongs to him.

He has turned them into marionettes and take that small part.

The mayors have no opportunity to handle water supply or drainage channels, to intervene when there are fires or to provide services to citizens.

In addition to the patron Nazis, since 17-18 thousand in 2015 when the reform was made, they have gone to 36 thousand, so they doubled.

The salary fund has been burdened by more than 100 million euros, instead of saving 60 million euros as claimed when the reform was made," said Vasili.
